Trademark Classes
A comprehensive guide to Class 2 of the Trademark Classification. Trademarks must be applied or registered under classes and each class represents a distinct class of goods or services. In this post, we comprehensively cover the goods which fall under Class 2 of trademark classification.
The following goods are classified under Class 2: Paints, varnishes, lacquers; preservatives against rust and against deterioration of wood; colorants; mordants; raw natural resins; metals in foil and powder form for painters, decorators, printers and artists.
Class 2 includes mainly paints, colorants and preparations used for the protection against corrosion. This Class includes in particular, paints, varnishes and lacquers for industry, handicrafts and arts, dyestuffs for clothing, colorants for foodstuffs and beverages.
The following goods must NOT be classified under Class 2: Unprocessed artificial resins (Class 1), laundry blueing (Class 3), cosmetic dyes (Class 3), paint boxes (articles for use in school)(Class 16), insulating paints and varnishes (Class 17).
